New chicken house
Having decided to get another couple of chickens, we obviously needed something a bit bigger than the Eglu for them to live in. We ended up buying a Lenham 503, which has room for up to six birds. The chickens aren’t confined to their run during the day any more, but have the run of the garden (which means you have to bribe them with food to be able to get cars in or out!), and we fitted an automatic door opener which opens at dawn and closes at dusk, so they can let themselves out if we don’t get up early.
HI,would very much appreciate info on where you obtained automatic door and how good it is thanks

I got it from eBay, I think from these people.
It’s been very reliable, although the fishing line that connects to the door has broken a fair few times (mainly because I’ve got it running through a long piece of bent tubing with the string being pulled down, to allow the unit to be fitted inside the house instead of above the door).
I’m not entirely sure that the last paragraph makes much sense – I’ll try to post some photos of the setup later in the week.
